Assistant General Manager

This position is responsible for assisting with the development and
execution of growth strategies, and in collaboration with
colleagues in Asia, this role will lead the business development
efforts for Link Tool.
General Job Duties:
--- Participates in the development and drive the execution of the
overall strategy and business plans for Link Tool.
--- Manages sales and marketing, customer service and logistics
(including stocking programs). Anticipates and effectively deals
with market, customer, or social trends that could enhance the
organization's opportunities or adversely impact business results.
Represent Link in key relationships with major customers, trade
associations, and the industry at large.
--- Maintains full awareness of market conditions of the Link Tool
business including competitive intelligence. Meets with the
leadership on a periodic basis to outline and develop business
opportunities and strategies.
--- Ensures that Link Tool maintains close relationships with
customers and continuously evaluates their perception of the
company in terms of quality, delivery, service level, pricing, and
--- Collaborates with the PennTool team in Kunshan, China to
coordinate the sourcing and logistics of product from PennTool in
--- Leads a team of sales representatives to effectively execute
the sales strategy. Establishes an environment, which nurtures and
encourages creative thinking. Mentor, guide, and coach direct
reports to expand and develop their capabilities.
--- Partner with the Westland operating team on projects to develop
operations understanding and expertise of Link Tool operations.
--- Prepares and presents portions of the quarterly business
reviews for Senior Management. Discussions include but not limited
to; financial performance, manufacturing performance, continuous
improvement projects, capital expenditures and market & customer
evaluations, as well as any new strategies being considered.
--- Reviews monthly reports such as spending summary, performance
reports, past due reports, quality reports. Identifies variances to
plan and reports causes and corrective actions to the
--- The role is based out of Westland, MI but requires travel to
visit customers throughout the North Americas region and occasional
travel to Asia.
Location(s) Requirements Qualification/Experience:
--- BS/BA Degree in business management, accounting or engineering
--- Must have a minimum of (7) years of management experience with
a commercial, product management, or manufacturing background
--- International experience is strongly preferred. Candidate
should have a 'world view' with experience working in a global
organization and an appreciation for different cultures.
--- Proven business development and negotiation skills and track
record developing strong relationships with customers.
--- Strong financial/business acumen, project management, customer
relationship skills and strategic thinking/planning experience.
--- Excellent communication skills.
--- Experience working with CRM and ERP Systems.
--- Must be able to work in and around manufacturing equipment.
--- Visual acuity.
--- Ability to travel by air, as well as other conventional modes
--- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
