Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A registered nurse with specialized expertise in stepdown care is needed to provide critical patient-centered nursing services on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This contract role spans 13-16 weeks and requires a minimum of two years of nursing experience, including acute care hospital exposure. Candidates must hold current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications, with dysrhythmia exam completion mandatory. Position Highlights Unit: PCU/Stepdown, 33-bed capacity Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 (day), 1:5-6 (night), acuity-dependent Patient Population: Cardiac telemetry, vascular, med-surg, post-cath, post-pacemakers Advanced equipment usage: PICCs, dialysis catheters, chest tubes, tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, various drips including Cardizem and Amiodarone Shift: 12-hour PM shifts, every other weekend and every other holiday Travel not required; local candidates not accepted for this assignment Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop plans of care, and evaluate patient responses Administer medications and manage complex monitors and devices proficiently Coordinate interdisciplinary care, patient education, and family communication Serve as patient advocate and safety champion within the clinical environment Utilize electronic health records including telemetry verification Maintain adherence to professional nursing standards and evidence-based practices Qualifications Current RN license valid in the applicable state or compact agreement BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification (required) Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably with at least 6 months in acute care Competency with telemetry and critical care procedures essential Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred About the Location Located in a vibrant region of Ohio, North Ridgeville offers a welcoming community environment with easy access to city amenities and outdoor recreation.
